Cellblock D #23 – Agassiz Raceway, B.C.

This was my first time going to one of the Cellblock D events and it will not be my last.

We showed up early on in the day and it was covered in fog as all the local drifters rolled in. Everyone found there places in the pits and began the prep work to get there road going cars ready to do battle out on the cold and wet track.
The weather on this day was not very inviting, it was nearly freezing outside, the rain was not falling it was moving sideways. This did not deter any of the local talent from throwing it sideways.

There was a bit of everything that showed up at this event. We had the usual “drift sluts” with there rainbow coloured body panels and zip ties holding most things on. Then we had the more polished cars that were out there. No questions, even the show quality cars were built to slide. Then there was the lone american muscle trying to throw it sideways. Sadly there was little luck behind the wheel of the Mustang that showed up but, boy oh boy, did he put on a good show to watch.

Matt, showing everyone how to link the whole track up with, what seemed like, no effort at all.

This little blue eyed drift monster had the track down perfect. Every run seemed to come out just right.....i think it was the colour that did it.

V8 Toyota Carolla....the possibility for traction does not exist in this kind of combination and the sound made the ground shake.

No hood.....no problem.

The day ended on a sad note. A freshly built up 240 coupé with a LS swap was making his run around the track and the front end washed out. Sadly this car left the track on a flat deck but the driver was fine. I only managed one shot of the car before it kissed the wall.

More V8 fun in the rain.
